Tanghalang Pilipino stages “Walang Sugat” at CCP (Theater Play Details and Ticket Discounts)

Tanghalang Pilipino (TP), the resident theatre company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines presents “Walang Sugat”.
After celebrating its Silver Anniversary, TP is now set to open its 26th theatre season this August 2012 to March 2013. This marks a new chapter in the life of the country’s premier theatre company which adopts the theme, TRUTH and CONSEQUENCE.
Since 1987, TP has consistently pursued its goal of using theatre not only to promote the artistic excellence of the Filipino Artists, nor just to showcase the unique aesthetics of our indigenous and folk traditions, but more importantly, to underscore the efficacy and relevance of Philippine Theatre as an educational tool and catalyst for human development and nation building.

More about TP’s 26th Theater Season:
Guided by the theme “Truth and Consequence”, TP is producing four (4) exciting plays this season that address TP’s goals- knowing the truth and exposing it in a most creative way:
Walang Sugat”, a sarswela written by Severino Reyes, dramatizes with songs and dances, every Filipino’s inherent responsibility of loving not only one’s human partner, but one’s country of birth.
Walang Kukurap” written by Layeta Bucoy is a futuristic play that foretells what kind of human society we will have if we do not succeed today in curbing or eradicating corruption, not only among the national leaders but also our personal corruption and the decay of our individual and familial mores.
“Stageshow” reveals to us the heroism of the Filipino artists in keeping our cultural traditions intact, and the dire consequences of society’s disregard of this heroism.
Ibalong”, our last production, recognizes the values of our indigenous people’s stories and aesthetics, and challenges us, contemporary artists and audiences, to show respect, even as we sometimes innovate and showcase the artistic genius of our ancestors, and their significant contributions to our national identity as a people.

      Hello Bambi,

This is as per Tanghalang Pilipino’s advice to me:

If they subscribe, they have to pay Ph2,000 (regular rate but we have 50% discount sa students and 20% naman sa senior citizens), this entitles them to a single ticket each production (walang sugat, walang kukurap, ibalong and stage show). Its a discounted ticket versus our regular rate of Ph800.00 (for musical) and ph600 (straight play).

You may also contact Lei of Tanghalang Pilipino at loreleijuly@yahoo.com and Mobile No.(smart) 0908-8941384/ (globe) 0915-6072275.

Special Education Philippines hopes this will inspire you and your family especially your kids to subscribe. :)
